MEET THE ARTIST
Isabel Crause (b. 1980, South Africa) is a self-taught visual artist and freelance writer based in Cape Town. Working across mixed media, Isabel creates layered, textural compositions reflecting the rawness and beauty of self-growth. Abstracted botanical motifs serve as metaphors for the push and pull between control and surrender, emergence and dissolution, strength and softness. The work is both a visual meditation and an emotional excavation, speaking to the inner environment of personal evolution with nature as an ever-present mirror. In 2024, Isabel was awarded a residency at Château d’Orquevaux in France, an experience that continues to influence her evolving practice. Crause’s works are held in private collections across South Africa, France, the UK, the USA, Australia, Dubai, and the Netherlands.
Too much to dream is printed with archival inks on Fine Art Paper with a matte finish.
