Our frames are handcrafted with love by an intergenerational framing company in Cape Town. Each frame comes with glass, backing boards and pre-fitted hangers for easy installation.

The frames are constructed using acid-free materials to guarantee the conservation of your artwork, and the wood used for our frames is sourced from responsibly managed forests. As our frames are handmade, please allow 7-10 working days for your framed piece to be printed, framed and shipped.

mounting

From the viewer’s perspective, mounting acts as a border between the artwork and its frame. It doesn’t alter the size of the artwork itself - instead , the frame is enlarged to include this border. Please note that the reference images below are for illustrative purposes only and are not to scale. For artworks sized A4 to A1, we add a 4cm mounting border on each side. For A0 artworks, a 5cm mounting border is added on each side.

gallery frames v. box frames

The key difference between our box and gallery frames lies in their depth. Box frames offer a deeper, more dimensional display, with space between the artwork and the front of the frame - creating a striking shadowbox effect. Gallery frames sit closer to the wall for a sleek, minimalist profile. See the example below to compare both styles visually.
